78TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY® Awards
September 14, 2026
Peacock Theater, Los Angeles, California
Monday night was the 78th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards and the big winner was Apple TV’s “Widow’s Bay,” winning many of the high profile Comedy, Acting, and Tech awards. Sure to be a darling in the upcoming awards cycle, you can bet that “Widow’s Bay” will be a big topic of conversation at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. “Pluribus” was also one of the most awarded series of the night, overshadowing last year’s darling “The Pitt” and the final season of “Hacks.” A few series which have recently been canceled like “Spider-Noir” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” won several awards, begging the question why they were canceled if they were so awards-worthy? Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance, Sabrina Carpenter’s The Muppet Show, and the reality competition series The Traitors were some of the other specials and series that won multiple awards.
