2013 Oscars Challenge: [28] Django Unchained – Five Nominations

DJANGO UNCHAINED BEST PICTURE Despite Roger Ebert placing this film high on the films to win Best Picture, “Django Unchained” doesn’t have much of a chance. If we think “Argo” is a tough call due to the lack of a Best Directing nomination, “Django” must be placed below that. Meaning it will have defy even more than “Argo” to win. That being said, it … Read More 2013 Oscars Challenge: [28] Django Unchained – Five Nominations

For Your Consideration 2011: “Carnage”

Politics involving Roman Polanski aside, “Carnage” is the first film of his that I have genuinely been excited to see and credit has to go to casting. First off, Christoph Waltz in anything is great and seeing him take a comedic role like this and seemingly knocking it out of the park continues to drive my admiration for him. John C. Reilly and Jodie … Read More For Your Consideration 2011: “Carnage”

Movie Review: The Green Hornet (2011)

More of a showcase of Seth Rogen’s levity, “Green Hornet” achieves entertainment, but fails to provide longevity. With some work needed in the writing department, “Hornet” loses some steam in unnecessary dialogue and random plot points. Simplicity is key and “Hornet” is all about complications. Jay Chou was enjoyable and believable, but overall, the film failed to grab me like prior “hero” movies.
