Paul Thomas Anderson and “Phantom Thread” get their first Best Picture win of the Critics season. Other firsts include Daniel Kaluuya’s first Best Actor win for “Get Out,” “The Meyerowitz Stories (New And Selected)” winning Best Ensemble, Greta Gerwig winning her first Best Screenplay award, and “The Square” winning Best Foreign Film. One big surprise is David Lowery winning Best Editing for “A Ghost Story,” one movie I did not expect to make any appearance this award season.
