LES MISÉRABLES (2019)

FRANCE

Stéphane has recently joined the Anti-Crime Brigade in Montfermeil, the town where Victor Hugo set his novel “Les Miserables.” He quickly discovers tensions running high between neighborhood gangs. When his team finds itself overrun during the course of an arrest, a drone captures their every action.

UNLIKELY

“Parasite” basically has this category locked. In my personal opinion, this wasn’t even the best film to come out of France this year. “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” takes my vote for that.
