KLAUS

Sergio Pablos | Jinko Gotoh | Marisa Román

When a selfish young postman is assigned to a remote Scandinavian town, his unlikely friendship with a reclusive toymaker leads to the creation of Santa Claus.

POSSIBLE
Coming into awards season, no one seemed to be taking “Klaus” seriously. For one thing, “Toy Story 4” and “I Lost My Body” were busy winning all the critics awards and then “Missing Link” won the Golden Globes. But then the Annie Awards came and “Klaus” started winning big, leading people to believe it might actually have a shot at the Oscars. It’s visually stunning, that’s for sure, but it coming Netflix might be something the Academy balks at. Right now, it’ll likely still have to beat the beloved “Toy Story 4,” but if the exclusion of “Frozen II” in the category is any indicator, there is definitely a chance for upset in this category.
