
With its first Best Film award of the season, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” took the top award from the he Philadelphia Film Critics Circle, with Viola Davis also winning Best Actress for her performance in the film. Amanda Seyfried also got her first win of the season, with Best Supporting Actress from her performance in “Mank.” The runner-up for Best Film was “Da 5 Bloods,” which grabbed a pair of acting awards in Best Actor for Delroy Lindo and Best Supporting Actor for Chadwick Boseman. “Soul” took a pair of awards for Best Animated Film and Best Soundtrack/Score. “Nomadland” took yet another Best Cinematography award, as well as Chloé Zhao continuing her unprecedented sweep of the Best Director awards.
