
In the first Best Picture tie of this award’s season, the Kansas City Film Critics Circle honored both “Nomadland” and “Promising Young Woman” with its biggest award. They both won two additional awards, with “Nomadland” winning Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Chloé Zhao, while “Promising Young Woman” won Best Actress for Carey Mulligan and Best Original Screenplay for Emerald Fennell. M. I. Littin-Menz was also honored for the first time this season, with a Best Cinematography win for “The Vast of Night.”

Kansas City Film Critics Circle
Our organization was founded by Dr. James Loutzenhiser in 1966 as the Kansas City Film Circle Awards, and is the second oldest professional film critics’ association in the United States, after the New York Film Critics Circle. As of July, 2014, the KCFCC had 26 active members representing print, radio, television and online media outlets.
