Can “Nomadland” get any more buzzy? Not only has been sweeping the critics’ awards, it is now a Golden Globe winner. The Phoenix Film Critics Society followed suit, naming it Best Picture and awarding Chloé Zhao for Best Director and Joshua James Richards for Best Cinematography. “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” won Best Actor and Best Costume Design, “The Trial of the Chicago 7” won Best Ensemble, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing, and “One Night In Miami” won Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Song. The rest was a smattering of wins we’ve previously seen, solidifying the love for these films.

Phoenix Film Critics Society
Founded in October 2000 by David Ramsey and Roger Tennis. We started with ten original members. The PFCS quickly gained attention from the major film studios and independent film distributors. One of the reasons for the recognition was that all members are established film critics in Arizona.
