Best INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILM
Poland

Much like Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse,” where you follow a horse from different owner to different owner, “EO” follows the adventures of a donkey. EO starts as a circus donkey with his handler Kasandra, who genuinely loves him. He eventually ends up at a Countess’s mansion, the Countess played by Isabelle Huppert. The donkey and the cinematographer are brilliant, working together to show profound expressions from an unemoting animal.
