“MY YEAR OF DICKS“
FEBRUARY 28, 2023
THE ANIMATION SHOWCASE
DAY 36
OF 48

Best Animated Short Film
Sara Gunnarsdóttir and Pamela Ribon

The animated short “My Year Of Dicks” is precisely what it sounds like, a girl in high school ventures through different relationships trying to lose her virginity. Some topics covered in the film include self-image, consent, and the pitfalls of any coming-of-age tales. There is honesty and sharpness to the dialogue that makes it feel personal. All the characters draw you in, but it’s the situations that the lead, Pam, gets herself into that keep you invested.
