“Anonymous” is a film I will have to see before I can actually judge whether this consideration will become a nominee in any of the categories. The period-ness of the film is a good start, but with little hype for the film and a slightly nobody cast, I am not sure it will be able to contend.

  1. It is beautifully filmed. I just wish people would take the time to just enjoy the film rather than get into arguments about the validity of the plot and the authorship of Shakespeare. ‘Shakespeare’ will always be the most extraordinary writer the world has ever seen. It doesn’t really matter in the end who he is. The film was engaging from the outset and continued to be so. I have now seen it twice and enjoyed it even more the second time.

    1. I can see how that would be frustrating. Too many times people get stuck on some small aspect that they aren’t really looking at the whole picture during a film. Yes, the plot may be something of question, but take a look at the beautiful filming. You have me excited to see this film now. Do you think it will get nominated for any Oscars?

  2. I have seen this film 2 weeks ago, and it was beautifully filmed. However, the exposition of the film wasn’t that clear enough for moviegoers to understand. As of its Academy chances, definitely not a Best Picture contender, but Best Art Direction and Costume design definitely is an oscar worthy. ^_^
