Considering that the Best Picture rules were changed because of the backlash towards “The Dark Knight” not being recognized at the 2009 Academy Awards, it would be pressing to say that “The Dark Knight Rises” doesn’t at least have a chance of making the final cut. Regardless, the film should at least grab most of the technical nominations like both Sound Editing and Sound Mixing, along with Original Score from Hans Zimmer, one of the go-to nominees every year. Christopher Nolan has been snubbed a little too often, so I wouldn’t be entirely surprised to see him amongst the Best Director nominees. Besides Best Visual Effects and maybe even Best Film Editing, I am not anticipating “The Dark Knight Rises” to gain too much ground, but would be pleasantly surprised if it does.
